ASL INTERPRETATION

ASL interpretation is not presently available at Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site.

 

PARKING AND ENTRANCE

There are two designated accessible parking spaces available in the visitor lot at Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site and two accessible parking pads near the site of the old fort.

  • During normal business hours, there are two cement ADA accessible parking spaces next to the Visitor Center and two cement ADA accessible parking spaces near the site of the old fort, which can be accessed by the site service road on the north side of the site.
  • During  special events, additional ADA spaces are added in the parking lot closest to the Visitor Center. 

 

SERVICE ANIMALS

Dogs and other animals which qualify as Service Animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act are welcome at the Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site and are exempt from fees. 

Under the New Mexico Service Animal Act of 2013, Emotional Support Animals and pets are not considered service animals.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

There are two wheelchairs available at Bosque Redondo Memorial on a first come, first served basis.

  • The Visitor Center, Interpretive Trail access, and Restrooms are on ground level and ADA accessible.  The lower nature trail is not accessible by wheelchair.
  • Motorized scooters are permitted onsite.
  • Restrooms are ADA accessible.

 

ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMS

Programs presented in the visitor center and ADA trail are accessible to wheelchairs.
