Wendi Laws
Regional Manager
Wendi Laws is originally from New Mexico but moved to Texas to attend Texas Tech University where she graduated with a BA in English Literature and Education. After many years of teaching, she also obtained a BA in Anthropology from Texas State University, and then graduated with an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Wendi launched her career working for park systems in Texas where she served for over 10 years as an interpretive ranger. Those parks were also home to historic sites where she researched, presented programs, and designed exhibits to highlight the history of the locations. After serving as site manager for two historic house museums in Austin, she is delighted to be returning to New Mexico to continue her career at New Mexico Historic Sites.

Jessica Coyle
Instructional Coordinator Supervisor
Originally from the Washington, D.C. Metro area, Jessica has lived in Albuquerque, NM, since 2006. She has her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Hood College, and Masters of Arts in Museum Education from The George Washington University. Before joining the staff at Coronado Historic Site, she worked for 13 years in the education department at Albuquerque Museum. When not at work, Jessica enjoys playing viola in the local community orchestra, and spending time with her boyfriend, Craig, and cat, Gizmo.

Anthony Magdalena
Interpretive Ranger
Anthony Magdalena comes to us from Jemez Pueblo where he served as Manager of the Walatowa Visitor Center. When he's not at work, Anthony raises crops and livestock and enjoys the company of his cat.

Joseph Tackes
Interpretive Ranger
Ranger Joseph was raised in the Midwest and graduated with a bachelor's degree in area studies geography and Spanish language and literature from Northern Illinois University in 2015. Since then, he has spent a lot of time abroad including six years as an ESL instructor?in Spain, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Peru. Learning about history has always been a passion of his and is what led him to joining New Mexico Historic Sites in 2022.
