Taylor-Mesilla Historic Property

Exploring the Collections

The Taylor-Mesilla Historic Property has an extraordinary collection of objects and artwork. The interior is filled with religious art, textiles from around the world, New Mexico colonial furniture, Native American art, photographs, fine art, and folk art. The objects, collected by the Taylor family for more than ninety years, help us understand and appreciate the history, culture, and traditions of Mesilla and the Southwest Borderlands.

In this series, we will highlight some of the items in the Taylor Collections. Our collections specialist, Ivana Montenegro, will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our objects. Please contact her at ivana.montenegro@state.nm.us.
