Cultures and Creators

Cultures & Creators, presented by the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area and held at Los Luceros, is an annual visual arts exhibition that uplifts regional artists and centers Northern New Mexico’s cultural traditions through contemporary expression. This week-long celebrate of heritage, art, and culture includes public programming.

This year’s exhibition, Interwoven, highlights the ways culture is interwoven across artistic mediums in Northern New Mexico. Works in the exhibition reflect both traditional and contemporary practices, including weaving, embroidery, quilting, textile-based sculpture, and natural and plant-based materials. Together, the pieces demonstrate how cultural knowledge is carried forward, adapted, and reimagined across generations through diverse artistic mediums. The exhibition opens Saturday, April 12, during Sheep Shearing Day.

Check back for updates on public programming. Exhibition and activities are included with site admission.
