Archaeology in New Mexico

Ziggy Prothro, education coordinator at the New Mexico Office of Archaeological Studies will be here to talk about the prehistoric and historic archaeology of New Mexico with a collection of the tools that people have used from the earliest inhabitants of our area up through the early 20th century. The lecture will focus on the basics of how and why archaeologists do their research, and what they learn from the material remains that people leave behind. Ziggy will have a table of New Mexico artifacts and replicas to touch, explore and discuss.
Site entry is free for New Mexico residents and there is no extra cost to attend the presentation.
