Three Sisters in the Kitchen: The Culinary Arts of Southern New Mexico
At Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site
7/30/25, Wednesday
12:00pm - 1:00pm
Join Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site for a discussion of Southern New Mexico’s culinary history. Ranger Daniel will lead an interactive workshop on the intersection of food and culture in the US-Mexico borderlands. Participants will learn about the cultivation of traditional ingredients such as corn, beans, and squash — often referred to as the “Three Sisters” — as well as the use of chile peppers, pecans, and pistachios in the region’s unique cuisine that combines the flavors of Chihuahua, West Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley.
