Sunrise Over the Ruins: Riparian Walk
At Fort Selden Historic Site
5/4/25, Sunday
6:00am - 12:00pm
Join Fort Selden Historic Site staff to see the sunrise over the historic ruins and enjoy scenic views of the Robledo Mountains. Visitors can use the early morning light and shadows for artistic inspiration, painting and sketching, or enjoy wildlife viewing and birding. Mornings can be cold this time of year so please dress accordingly. A ranger will lead a riparian, or riverside, walk at 11 a.m. discussing changes to the bosque over the years and how much the landscape has changed since the Fort was operational. This is also a great birding opportunity.
Admission is free to New Mexico residents and is $5/adult for non-residents. Free for children 16 years and younger, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, Tribal/Native affiliations, and MNMF members.
