In honor of Valentine’s Day, Ranger Mike will read letters around the fireplace from Sgt. James H. Storey to his pen pal and sweetheart Annie Cheshire. Sgt. Storey was a civil war veteran and soldier stationed at Fort Selden who shared his unique perspective through ink and paper as a soldier of the old American West. These letters encapsulate his trials, tribulations, and sacrifices during the Civil War and years after, ultimately with the hopes of returning to his love Annie. This is the perfect occasion to bring your Valentine and experience a romantic morning around the fireplace listening to Sgt. Storey’s letters. This program is included as part of general admission of $5 per adult. Children 16 years old and younger and NM Disabled Veterans are free.
