Los Luceros Historic Site

Los Luceros Historic Site (LLHS) offers extended hours from sunrise to sunset on the first Sunday of each month. During this time, entrance into LLHS is FREE for New Mexico residents with ID. Enjoy bird watching to see the winter Sandhill Cranes, listen to a children’s story led by a ranger, and participate in a hands-on activity related to the book. Visitors are free to explore the historic buildings, nature trails, and farm animals.

For story time, join Ranger Kara at 11 a.m. in the Community Room to read Groundhog’s Day Off by Robb Pearlman. Groundhog might be tired of having to predict the weather every year and he’s doesn’t feel very appreciated, so who will take his place? Listen to this fun story, then participate in a craft activity that will celebrate Groundhog’s Day. Visitors are invited to explore the site afterwards and see if they can see their shadow to guess if there will be 6 more weeks of winter! All ages are invited to attend. Children must have a guardian present.

Entrance is free for New Mexico residents with ID. Regular admission for non-residents is $7/adult and free to children 16 and younger.
