Ghosts of the Past: Folklore of New Mexico
At Fort Selden Historic Site
10/12/24, Saturday
6:00pm - 9:00pm
Join us for a mystical evening in the ruins of Fort Selden, just five days before the full moon. This year’s theme of Folklore invites you to encounter wandering ghosts who will share their captivating stories along the way.
Experience a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere with a storyteller by the fire, while a ranger assists guests in making delicious s’mores. Get creative with the Las Cruces library as you dive into crafts, or carve and paint pumpkins with our pumpkin master, Wendi. Don’t miss the chance to see a Colcha embroidery demonstration up close.
Dress in 19th-century attire for a top-tier photo op in the wagon. Immerse yourself in this intimate setting as you stroll along a jack-o’-lantern-lined path, basking in the glow of sunset and enjoying live music by the fire. We hope you will enjoy this unforgettable night filled with history, creativity, and community spirit.
Activities are outdoors, so dress for the weather. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and free for children 16 years and younger. Tickets available online.
