The Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area (NRGNHA) presents the 2nd annual Cultures & Creators Visual Arts Festival at Los Luceros Historic Site. Cultures & Creators celebrates the incredible cultural and artistic heritage of Northern New Mexico with a juried art exhibit in the Community Room featuring the work of local artists.

While this is not a "festival" per se (no booths, vendors, or entertainment), the programming during this time includes the art exhibition, which features a wide range of artistic expressions of traditional art methods, as well as an artist demonstration with Joseph Lopez who will be demonstrating santero carving on Sept. 22 during the Los Luceros Harvest Festival.

This year, NRGNHA is honored to present Wesley Vigil as the 2024 Featured Artist. Wesley’s work, a mesmerizing blend of traditional Pueblo pottery techniques and contemporary storytelling, embodies the cultural tapestry and diverse heritage of Northern New Mexico. His pieces invite attendees to explore the narratives and emotions crafted into each creation.

The juried art exhibition is open during Los Luceros regular business days, Wednesday through Sunday (site closed Monday and Tuesday), 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and free to children ages 16 and younger. Admission during the Los Luceros Harvest Festival on Sun., Sept. 22, is $10 for adults and $5 for children and includes the artist demonstrations.
